Una comida de trabajo es, en ocasiones, un terreno inexplorado en el que no sabemos qué nos vamos a encontrar. Todos tenemos cierta incertidumbre sobre como será pasar un periodo de tiempo en un ambiente más relajado con un cliente potencial, un contacto importante, un posible inversor, una persona de gran importancia para la empresa …
Si tus nociones gastronómicas están en la media o por debajo de ella, es normal que puedas sentirte incómodo ante preguntas del tipo ¿qué quieres pidamos? ¿qué es lo mejor que sirven en este sitio? y… la pregunta que suele ser más temida es ¿qué vino tomamos?… en función del perfil del resto de comensales, una falta de conocimiento sobre el mundo del vino puede ser vinculada a “poca preparación”. Por otro lado, cierto nivel de conocimiento del mundo del vino puede darte un tema de conversación, un punto de partida en la cena. El vino puede actuar como primer elemento para romper el hielo.
Para los emprendedores que pasan el día luchando por sacar adelante su negocio y no se centran en lo último del vino, tener un conocimiento sólido parece una misión imposible fundamentalmente por falta de tiempo y escoger el vino en la comida puede ser visto como un “gran marrón”. Lo cierto es que si el camarero te mira y te pregunta ¿qué vino tomarán?, todas las miradas estarán apuntando a ti hasta que tomes una decisión. Serás el centro de atención, es importante que reacciones bien para mostrar confianza… así que… ¿qué debes hacer?
Ten la deferencia de preguntar a los demás… si no tienes ni idea, igual pasas el mal trago
Si no tienes “ni idea” del mundo del vino, la mejor opción puede ser empezar por dar una oportunidad al resto de comensales. Pedir sugerencias puede venir bien para tener una primera impresión sobre el conocimiento del mundo del vino de todos los comensales. Una vez tengas claro el “nivel de conocimiento” de tu mesa y si ninguno de tus comensales “lleva la voz cantante en la elección del vino”, es hora de que tomes la carta de vinos y comiences a hacer tu elección.
Te aconsejamos que no elijas “por defecto” el vino más caro de la lista. Si ninguno de tus comensales va a apreciarlo puede ser una gran estupidez. Pregunta que tipos de vino les gusta a tus comensales para poder elegir uno que les guste.
Ten claro tu presupuesto
Parece una cuestión obvia, pero debes tener claro el presupuesto que puedes destinar a la comida/cena. Aunque ya hayas estado en un sitio previamente y sepas cuanto cuesta comer allí, la elección de un vino u otro puede romper tus esquemas iniciales (y tu presupuesto…). Decide cuanto estas dispuesto a gastarte en la cena y el vino y trata de tenerlo como referencia (se flexible…).
Mantén la calma
Tranquilo, hay cosas mucho más complejas que elegir un vino ;). En caso de que no tengas ni idea y no te hayas preparado, es mucho mejor que te muestres natural y no te “tires a la piscina” intentando quedar bien
Esta no será ni tu primera ni tu última comida de trabajo, tendrás más oportunidades de impresionar a tus comensales :).
Prepara la comida
El éxito en los negocios depende en gran medida de tu capacidad de planificación e investigación y tu habilidad para llevarlo a buen puerto. Con una comida de trabajo ocurre lo mismo. Seguramente hayas invertido mucho tiempo en conseguir cerrar un hueco con ese cliente, persona de referencia… agente clave para tu negocio… ¿porqué no destinar algo más de tiempo en consultar la carta de vino del restaurante?.
Solicita la carta de vinos por anticipado, así podrás revisar tanto los menús como los tipos de vino y tendrás todo preparado. Una de las mejores formas de decidir el vino es tener claro que elegirás para comer y así tendrás una referencia inicial para elegir el vino.
Normalmente se suele pedir vino tinto con carne y vino blanco con pescados y mariscos.
Cuenta con el profesional
Si cuentas con un sommelier en el restaurante, cuenta con el. Siempre es un alivio contar con la recomendación de un experto. No todos los restaurantes contarán con este tipo de profesionales. Si conoces el sitio y confías en alguna persona del restaurante que no sea sommelier, también puedes contar con su opinión.
Ten clara la pronunciación
Si no tienes claro como se pronuncia un vino, mejor no te tires a la piscina ;). Ten clara la pronunciación de los vinos más populares… te vendrá bien…
